Why you're here:

Well, simply put, you're here because God led you here; but more than that, you're here because you did an amazing thing today and you may not even realize it. What you did today was accept and respond to one of God's graces. That's a huge deal! You may not understand that but believe me when I tell you that you've done a great thing for the welfare of your soul.

You see, every day God bestows graces upon us. Unfortunately, too often, we don't realize or recognize them. Some of the biggest sins we can commit are when we reject God's graces. You might say, "when did I reject a grace from God?" Trust me, it happens more often than you may think.

Now, the reason recognizing and responding to God's graces are so important is, when we die and go before the judgement seat of God,  we will have to answer for all of the graces God has showered us with throughout our lives. These graces are like gifts from God, and if we don't take these gifts and put them into use in our daily lives, we're essentially rejecting the relationship God is trying to develop with us. Just as you would be insulted if you gave someone a gift and they threw it away, God feels the same way about us throwing away the gifts He's so generously given us.

You might be thinking, "Well, I would never reject one of God's graces if I knew He was giving it to me," but because we tend to focus more on the world around us than God, we more times than not, miss  recognizing the graces He's lavishing upon us. We therefore, reject His graces. It's so important that we try to keep our minds more focused on God than the world, so we will recognize when His graces pour over us. Now, on the flip side, the graces we do respond to will be rewarded us a hundred fold. That's awesome!

So, give yourself a pat on the back. God sent you a grace, you recognized it and responded to it. I can assure you, you've pleased our Lord by doing His will.

Now that you're here, I hope you'll take the opportunity to read some (if not all) of the posts I've written. Perhaps some of the thoughts in this blog may assist you with your spiritual journey and the development of your relationship with God.

As you read through the posts, don't just read them and pass them by. After you've read something, if it makes some kind of sense to you, stop for a few moments and think about it. Have a pad and pen handy so you can write down a particular thought that you think might be useful in your life. One thing we have a tendency to do is read something useful but not allow it to really sink in. Those thoughts then become background noise in our memories. So if you come across something that you think your soul might benefit from, write it down!!

Remember, the goal is to draw yourself as close to God as possible.

I want to thank you for giving my blog a few minutes of your time and should you stay and read on, I hope there's something here that you and your soul can take and grow from.

Peace, good and blessings.
