Well it's election day today! I'm sure we'll all breathe a sigh of relief as the annoying political ads come to an end and we can get back to some form of normality. As I got up this morning and turned on the TV, I was shocked to see how many people were already out and waiting in line to vote. It was only 5:50 am when I got up, but the hardcore were already out there. Kudos!
I couldn't help but to think what an amazing world we would be living in if people had the same devotion and enthusiasm about God as they do our next President. Can you imagine those kinds of lines for people waiting to get into church to praise our Lord? Consider the efforts people have put into this election to see their favorite candidate get elected. How great to walk out of a grocery store and have somebody hand you a pamphlet on Jesus and what He'll do for you. How about people sitting up all night making t-shirts, posters, bumper stickers, signs, balloons, buttons and every other type of paraphernalia with the name of Jesus on it. Imagine opening up your Facebook page every day and the first thing you see is Jesus standing there with a true message of hope that somebody posted. How great to turn on the local news every morning and the lead story is reminding us not to forget our morning prayers before we start our day.
I suppose that's just wishful thinking. I do know one thing; at the end of our lives, it won't be Trump or Biden standing there to judge what was important to us, it'll be Jesus Himself. We certainly need to cast our votes with the best way to serve God. Last time I checked, abortion is murder. It all goes back to people relying on their own opinions. Those opinions will have to be accounted for one day. It would be wise for all to remember that this life is very temporary. Our primary efforts go to God first, then shaping the world to serve God. We all know who we need as our President. Spend some time in prayer today for this intention. We don't need to be glued to the TV all day to see the outcome. That won't happen until much later tonight, if not tomorrow. Our best chance of having Trump re-elected, prayer and your vote.
Peace, good and blessings.
